City Stage

Street Dance, as a form of dance that aims to break away from traditional, centralized dance environments, has gradually evolved into an omnipresent new genre. By simply playing music on the street, the space for expression can be created, allowing individuals to convey their sense of freedom and abandon.

However, within the fast-paced rhythm of urban life, the competition for public space often deprived dancers of their performance areas. Additionally, facing the pressures of urban life and commercialization trends, dancers often turn to traditional dance studios, gradually diminishing the presence of street dance. I ponder whether it’s possible to revive its original spirit of freedom by reimagining and creating new spaces? To provide a sanctuary amidst the hustle and bustle of city life, a free city stage.

What exactly is a stage? It’s not only a space for performance but also a place that attracts the gaze of spectators. When watching becomes free, no longer confined to planned performances on prestigious stages, all actions become a means of self-expression.

The stage is no longer a confined space but rather a spontaneously generated spectacle created through various boundaries. The Hai’an Road axis will change with the flow of bodies, allowing the previously isolated islands due to traffic to breathe with people, making public spaces truly decentralized urban domains where people, space, and subcultures coexist harmoniously.
