隨著元宇宙科技的快速發展，資料中心去中心化，資訊載體轉變，圖書館的角色與功能也將隨之轉變，以適應新時代的需求。我將元宇宙的發展分為三個階段。在第一階段中，人類需要較大的物理空間和設備來體驗虛擬空間。在第二階段，腦機介面技術允許人類完全沉浸於數位世界。第三階段數位空間與物理空間達到完全融合，導致人類混淆這兩個世界。透過改建國家圖書館，使其能適應元宇宙發展各個階段。在前期作為引導人類進入元宇宙的教育機構，中期時作為元宇宙研究發展的支持，最終在兩屆融合時成為人民的庇護處。

When digital and physical spaces no longer need to be distinguished, what should the role of the library be? What is reality? 

As metaverse technology evolves, libraries must adapt their roles and functions to meet new demands. The development of the metaverse can be divided into three stages: initially, large physical spaces are needed for virtual experiences; in the second stage, brain-computer interfaces allow full digital immersion; the third stage sees a complete merger of digital and physical spaces, causing confusion between the two. The national library’s structure is generated through a mix of physical and digital space modules, maintaining a balance to preserve its cultural and historical essence. As the metaverse progresses, these modules can be adapted to suit changing needs, transforming the library into an educational hub, a research center, and ultimately a refuge as physical and digital worlds converge.
