A Sanctuary in the Desert

Site

Mingsha mountain, DunHuang City

Water is the source of life, but it is also the rarest existence in the desert. Whether it is a lake or a spring, it is endowed with unparalleled divinity in this field. In history, Dunhuang was an important node in the spread of Buddhism to the east. However, today , this space of spiritual belief originating from the great geography has gradually disappeared with the development of technology and tourism.

So, I want to make a well in the desert. Physically, it can provide necessary water replenishment for travelers, and provide shelter for travelers when a storm strikes. Spiritually, I want it to become the Dunhuang city for thousands of years. The continuation of the sanctity of the ancient city.
